Aromatherapy Supplies:
All vegetable oils, with healing and moisturizing properties for the skin. Choose from a wide variety of oils, or our massage oil blend
Carrier Oils are also called Base Oils, Fixed Oils or Natural Oils. They play an important role by carrying and diluting the highly concentrated essential oils. This inhibits the evaporation rate of essential oils and allows the oils to be used topically on the skin. Most essential oils are not safe to use directly on the skin without a Carrier Oil. They are very highly concentrated essences and to avoid a skin reaction they require dilution with either water or oil before being used topically. Using a Carrier oil as a base for an essentail oil blend allows the essence to be spread easily and evenly over the skin and also encourages quick absorption into the skin. Carrier oils also have their own unique healing and skin benefitting properties which can enhance the overall beneficial effect of the blend you create.
