As a Functional Medicine Practitioner Alison recognizes that every person is a unique individual, that health is not the absent of disease and the body has the wisdom to heal. Functional Medicine focuses on patient care versus disease care, using research from various disciplines to treat complex chronic health concerns.

Alison is trained to identify where the nutritional and biological imbalances is (nutritional, bio-chemical and hormonal) reverse it before the onset of chronic disease. Leading to a reduction in the signs and symptoms you may have been experiencing and further more eliminating the need for prescription medication.  This is not only prevention but also consider to be anti-aging.  Our bodies tend to age faster when they are operating in a imbalanced state; creating free radical damage, stimulating negative gene expression leading to chronic illness, increase signs of aging (wrinkles, low energy) or even cancer.

Patient Education:

Alison's goal is not only to help you feel better and assist you in achieving your health goals but more importantly to educate you on preventative medicine and maintaining optimal health.  It is very important that you have a clear understanding of the physiology behind your symptoms and the purpose to our treatment plan.   You will be provided with life long skills that you can pass on to family and friends to help achieve well being.

Appointment Information
Appointments: What Can I Expect?
Your first patient consultation at our clinic is up to 1 hour, in which a complete personal, medical and family history are taken. Please bring in any supplements or medications you are taking as well as any relevant laboratory results or imaging study results you may have.

Your second visit involves dietary analysis and appropriate diagnostic testing, including physical exam, Chinese tongue and pulse diagnosis. Blood work, urine and hair analysis and salivary testing may also be required. The result is a customized treatment plan that includes an appropriate dietary and medicinal prescription. Follow up appointments monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan. Visit length and frequency rate varies depending on your case and any treatments that are required.

Does Insurance Cover Naturopathic Doctors?
A majority of patients have coverage for Naturopathic Medical Services. It is wise to consult your insurance company directly to inquire about coverage. You will provide you with a receipt containing all necessary information needed to submit a claim directly.

Please feel free to purchase supplements directly through the clinic. For your convenience we have an online ordering option or you can call/e-mail ahead to have us prepare packages for mailing or for pick up at the clinic.  All online prescriptions orders will receive a 10% discount (before tax).
