'Chakras are energy-awareness centers. They are the revolving doors of creativity and communication between spirit and the world.'
The chakras are energy centers that are found within our subtle energy field. There are seven major chakras that run from the base of the body to the top of the head. Each chakra has an associated colour. They are often described them as lotus flowers, wheels, or disks. Chakra is a 'sanskrit' word for wheel. The chakras are always active, in the way that they are constantly spinning and monitoring our surroundings and environment, both physical and emotional. They react and interact with various stimuli within your daily environment (this includes human relations). These interactions have an impact on the chakra system. The chakras can either become slow, sluggish or blocked due to negative influences and experiences, or by contrast be open, balanced, harmonious and healthy when positive energy is surrounding you.
Chakras lie along the axis of the spine as consciousness potentials. They are situated in the etheric body and are repositories of psychic energies that govern the whole condition of being.
Chakras can affect us on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and esoteric. There are many techniques and exercises that can be used to keep chakras healthy, including Reiki, Meditation, Mindfullness, Exercise, and even the types of foods you eat.
